Frequently Asked Questions

Do my audience need to download an app?

No. Lime DJ runs in the browser on phones, tablets and laptops, just scan the QR code we provide you or open your show link.

Can I take tips through Lime DJ?

Yes. Tips are processed securely via Stripe. You can specify minimum tip amounts and if you are using a song database can specify minimum tip amounts for individual songs.

Does it work for karaoke and live performers?

Absolutely. You can upload song lists, enable voting, add lyrics/chords, and reorder requests on the fly. Our karaoke users and live performers find Lime DJ an invaluable tool for their gigs.

Can I brand the request page?

Yes. You can add your logo, custom header image, social links, and optional buttons to external sites or merch.

Can I limit how many requests someone makes?

Yes. We provide many settings to customise your shows including the ability to limit how many song requests someone can make in a specified amount of time.

Do I need to use my own song list?

No. If you do not have your own song list or catalog the audience can manually enter the song that they want to request. You can also enable Spotify search which will allow your audience to search the Spotify database for their song.

Is Lime DJ only for DJ's?

Not at all. We have a huge number of non DJ users such as piano bar performers, solo performers, cover bands, karaoke bands. Any performer who wants to easily engage with their audience and take song requests will find Lime DJ a useful tool.

Is there an Apple or Android app available?

We have a basic iOS app available for Apple devices which will allow you to receive push notifications of your song requests. We have stayed away from making native apps as the Lime DJ platform gets constantly updated, almost on a daily level. This would not be possible if we were to have a native phone app. Note: Lime DJ can be installed and used like a native app in your phone by clicking share (Apple) or the 3 dots (Android) and selecting 'Add to Home Screen'. This will install an icon on your phone and allow you to use Lime DJ as if it were a native app.
